We celebrate the 15th annual Esri Summercamp! The outstanding gis camp for young adults has just commenced. Nestled in the breathtaking alpine landscapes of the Swiss National Park (SNP) in Zernez, it marks a significant milestone, celebrating a decade and a half of fostering GIS education and inspiration among GIS enthusiasts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, participants from various corners of Switzerland will immerse themselves in a week-long exploration of the latest GIS technologies and environmental science, surrounded by some of Switzerland\u2019s most stunning natural and wild beauty. The Summercamp offers a unique blend of hands-on learning experiences, insightful tech workshops, and stimulating field exercises such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Experience in fieldwork with mobile devices and professional equipment of the SNP<\/li><li>Develop map applications for field data collection and visualization of results and findings of the project<\/li><li>Perform geographic analyses and image processing to gain insights<\/li><li>Hiking in the Swiss National Park and experiencing unique moments in an extraordinary world of vegetation and wildlife<\/li><li>Practical preparation for the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/geography.olympiad.ch\/en\/participate#c6255\" target=\"_blank\">Geo-Olympics in Bangkok 2024<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In detail, the week&#8217;s program can be studied <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/dfa5c06daa2e4412961135ea45544691\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The summer camp team is delivering again an interactive blog to share the vibrant stories and key learnings from this year&#8217;s camp, illustrating how these experiences shape the perspectives and skills of young GIS professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This so-called Storymap can be studied <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/bd4b183e0f0142a0938ce80a1b143e97\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an accompanying fun, the camp is also trying out the beta of Survey123 (https:\/\/survey123beta.arcgis.com), which includes AI assistance and questions on inputs such as texts or images:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/arcg.is\/1jKLSq0\" target=\"_blank\">Flower Counter<\/a>: The first survey focuses on biodiversity and counts the number of certain flowers in a photo.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/arcg.is\/18fC100\">Face <\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/arcg.is\/18fC100\" target=\"_blank\">Counter<\/a>: The second survey has an organizational purpose and counts the number of people in a photo<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Initial findings show that the assistant still has a lot to learn \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Important links:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Experience: https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/dfa5c06daa2e4412961135ea45544691\/<\/li><li>Blog: https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/bd4b183e0f0142a0938ce80a1b143e97<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zernez, 26. &#8211; 30. 08. 2024 Oooh, ooooh!
