Das Projekt verbindet klassische Unterrichtselemente mit praktischer Feldarbeit und wurde in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gis-iq.esri.de\/das-esri-geolympic-sommercamp-2021-in-der-schweiz\/\" target=\"_blank\">fr\u00fcheren Campblogs<\/a> bereits erkl\u00e4rt. Diese Kombination stellt sicher, dass die angehenden Geo-Olympioniken nicht nur theoretisches Wissen ansammeln, sondern auch praktische Erfahrungen sammeln, die sie f\u00fcr die GeOlympiade wappnen und nutzen werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Feldarbeit im \u00e4ltesten Park der Schweiz selbst ist ein unverzichtbarer Aspekt der Vorbereitung. Im <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalpark.ch\/de\/forschung\/wozu-forschen\/\" target=\"_blank\">einzigartigen Forschungslabor<\/a> mit <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/4dweb.proclim.ch\/4DCGI\/parkforschungarchive\/de\/DetailLink_Program?pn-swiss*Projects\" target=\"_blank\">Hunderten von Forschungsprojekten<\/a> k\u00f6nnen die Teilnehmer ihre Kenntnisse in einer realen Umgebung mit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/arcgis-online\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">modernsten GIS-Technologien von Esri<\/a> anwenden und ihr Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr \u00f6kologische und kulturelle Prozesse vertiefen. In Gruppen organisiert, f\u00f6rdert dieser Ansatz zudem die Teamarbeit und das kollaborative Probleml\u00f6sen, F\u00e4higkeiten, die bei der Arbeit in den Geowissenschaften von grossem Wert sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Park besitzt einen <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/parcs.ch\/snp\/data.php\" target=\"_blank\">umfangreichen Datenschatz<\/a>, der sich \u00fcber eine lange Zeitspanne erstreckt und vielf\u00e4ltige Querverbindungen zu anderen Themen sowie einen lokalen Bezug aufweist. Hier wurden die Gruppen gebildet und Fragen zur Untersuchung eines Themas erarbeitet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mittwoch <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Mittwoch stand ganz der Datenerhebung auf dem Feld. Es ergaben sich 6 Gruppen zu folgenden Themen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 1: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/c2b4a2acee2d442c9002f0a775f391e5\">&nbsp;<strong>Flowers in the heights<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a> <strong>(orange)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>This group examined how elevation impacts the quantity of colorful flowers in the Swiss National Park, hypothesizing that higher elevations would have fewer colorful flowers. They counted flowers of different colors at various heights and calculated the color ratio. Results confirmed the hypothesis, showing a significant decrease in colorful flowers with increasing altitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 2: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/ef906d0e8cef446faed43491732ae0de\">&nbsp;<strong>Tree Growth after Debris Flow<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>(violet)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>This group was inspired by two debris flows that occurred in recent years and their different vegetation. In their work, they have investigated the factors that influence tree growth after a debris flow. They focus on the thickness of the debris flow and the geomorphology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 3: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/aa70a754f7d74f81b2873158844d80cd\">&nbsp;<strong>Garland lawn<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>(pink)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>Garland lawns are a phenomenon that occurs in the National Park, but for which there is no real definition. Therefore, this group has tried to create a definition based on the two characteristics of slope gradient and slope direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 4: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/702b86fb5de7491fb6165b1f284ae30e\">&nbsp;<strong>Diversity of the visitors in the Swiss National Park<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>(turqoise)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>This report is about the places of origin of the different visitors to the Swiss National Park. The National Park has 120,000 visitors per year and the group wanted to investigate whether there is a correlation between the travel time and the number of visits per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 5: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/5c7934d774f84c16b409d4f6e64c5073\">&nbsp;<strong>Circumference of mountain pines in the national park<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>(gray)<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>This group was inspired by the statement that all trees in the Stabelchod area are the same age. They then wanted to find out whether the slightly longer vegetation period on the southern slopes had an influence on the circumference of the pines or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 6: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/2d0c7360449846b4add226e727f98517\">&nbsp;<strong>The height of grasses in correlation to exposure to sunlight<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>(green) <\/strong>Sunlight is often a very important factor for the growth of various plants. The different orientations of the slopes lead to different exposures to sunlight. This group wanted to find out if this limiting factor affects the height of the grass at different locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group 7: <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/c1ff292053f24cd2bd4a29387b25512e\">\u00a0<strong>Density of forest growth<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a> <strong>(blue) <\/strong>The density of a forest plays a major role in the storage of CO2. But what are the limiting influences on the density of a forest?
